Having being signed from Barcelona last summer by Arsene Wenger, Alexis Sanchez has been in blistering form for Arsenal over the course of the season.
The form of the Chile international has seen him notch a tremendous 22 goals for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
The perfomances with which he has put up over the season made Arsenal Manager to refer to him as a Dura-cell battery.
Sanchez who has been nominated for the PFA player of the year award with 5 other premier league stars including Sundays opponent Eden Hazard, who is the bookies favourite to win the award, has been backed by manager Arsene Wenger to challenge the chelsea and Belgian play-maker for the prestigious award.
Wenger in an exclusive interview said “”Alexis had a big impact and let’s not
forget that for Hazard it is not the first
season, but for Alexis it is,”
“He will give him a fight and if Alexis doesn’t make it this year, he will give him
a fight as well for next season.”
“I think everybody would agree that Hazard has had a great season and one of the aspects of Sunday’s game will be to keep him quiet.”
“He has found maturity that he did not have before. I believe his final ball is better, his personality on the pitch is
stronger, the finishing aspect of his game
is much better than before.”
“He can turn games when it’s 0-0 and when it’s tight. That’s always a sign of top
quality.” He concluded.
Mean while both players will come against each other on sunday. With Wenger knowing that a win at the emirates stadium will bolster his sides chances of winning the epl crown.
But failing to win, and loosing to chelsea will all but mean that the west londers will need just a win against Leicester city on Wednesday, will make chelsea the Champions.
